The Office/craft room

Ok when I bought the house I planned on having the front bedroom as my bedroom, however the back room had such a huge closet I had to switch my plans...So the front room became my office/craft room.
The previous owner had painted some very cool texture on the wall and it was a tan oatmeal type color. Sadly there were 2 walls that they did not cover very well so I painted them purple! My original purple was a dark eggplant but something took over me at the store and I ended up with a MUCH brighter purple. But I really liked the way it turned out. Still need to do a second coat but check out the before and after- comments welcome!!!

Personally I love the way the wood pops against the color!! And I haven't even cleaned the wood up yet!

How it started...

Ok some background on the house- I think I will start sort of in the middle but in October I started to look for a house of my very own. This was already a huge step a house is just something I had fully decided I would never have. Honestly it was difficult somewhere deep down I had told myself that a house was something you got with a husband and clearly that was not my situation. However I quickly made peace with that and focused on the excitement of having a home of my own and all that space to do everything I always wanted to do.
I am so pumped to have all the fridge space, make a craft room, and my office oh how I can't wait to have my desk set up so I can write and research my family, and of course coupons!
But wait I am getting ahead of myself... Ok so we started looking at houses and I looked at 3- 2 of them were BAD and the 3rd I bought. I know doesn't seem like much of a pool but those were the only ones for sale in my range and as the weather was getting colder the pickings got slimmer and slimmer. But it doesn't matter cause I am very happy! My house is awesome, and with the couple changes I am making it will be ideal!!!
I have to say I already feel different and I haven't done anything but paint and knock out a wall!
Pictures in the next post!
